Avonmore Road
Currently on site, the existing five storey mixed use Leigh Court Building dating back to early 20th Century is being refurbished and converted fully into residential accommodation. It will include fifteen apartments with two penthouses and five new houses. An additional storey is to be added at roof level with the existing basement both lowered and extended. The building will be linked to a new three storey development to the rear which will also include a basement. Large openings in the rear façade of Leigh Court over two storeys will form links to the new development.
The extension to the existing building requires consideration of disproportionate collapse requirements for the storey height extension and of how basement excavations can be safely carried out.
For the new development the site perimeter abuts adjacent properties, garden areas and a private road requiring careful consideration of perimeter construction details.
