Hidden Annexe

The client’s instruction was to form a self-contained nanny flat, under the garden, whilst still retaining use of the garden, in this Victorian terraced property in Swiss Cottage.

A reinforced concrete ‘box’ was formed to house this space, with perimeter walls kept as thin as possible.

Within this ‘box’, a glass cube was built to create a courtyard space for the unit.

Unsightly internal downstand beams were avoided by using changes of level to locate main beams.
