House for Four
The transformation of “House for Four,” led by Studio Shaw, is a testament to the intelligent use of space, showcasing how subtle design changes can yield significant outcomes. This project has elevated a fairly modest home into a space that feels big, interesting, and open.
In alignment with the Architect’s outline drawings, the project involved the removal of main rear external walls at the ground floor level, paving the way for the construction of a new single-storey rear infill extension. The addition of a new loft conversion at the second floor level, extending out to cover the perimeter of the first floor level, further maximizes the use of space and enhances the overall architectural appeal.
Noteworthy reconfigurations include the walls below the existing staircase from the ground floor to the first floor, contributing to the harmonious flow of the interior space. The completed project is a visual testament to how thoughtful design interventions can create a home that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functionally efficient.
